Discovery: Connor Kirk

Connor Kirk is a Philadelphia, USA-based rock and alternative pop artist who has just caught my attention thanks to his dreamy new, Hitchcock-inspired track Strangers on a Train.

By Graeme Smith

Strangers on a Train opens with a stripped-back guitar riff before launching into a bright and breezy electronic pop arrangement. The star of the show is Connor’s voice – smooth and soulful, it tells a visceral story of romance. Yet, dig a little deeper and this isn’t a wholesome story. Rather, it explores the commodification of love and sexuality in the modern world.

Literary references with social commentary under the guise of dream pop isn’t something I hear everyday. Connor Kirk is producing some exciting music that sets him out from the crowd. I can’t wait to hear what he does next. You can check out Strangers on a Train below.
