Deano, full name Dean Patrick Schumacher, is a Detroit, USA-based folk rock artist who grew up listening to a gamut of genre including rock & roll, blues, disco, R&B, funk and country. Once he started writing and performing music of his own at age ten, the result is a wonderful hybrid of it all. He’s just caught my attention through his single Tillman.

Tillman is a folk rock track that’s rich with storytelling. Guitar and banjo set the atmosphere early on before Deano’s charismatic and passionate vocals come in. Lyrically, Tillman speaks of the sacrifice of war veterans, an oft-covered subject but Deano swerves the usual clichés in his take on it, and he brings their story to life starkly.
Now in his ’40s, Deano’s relationship with music has now spanned over three decades, and you can tell through his proficiency in performance and song writing. Tillman is a song that will get you excited about classic rock again. You can check it out below.
