American garage rock duo The Margaret Hooligans first hit my radar in January thanks to their wonderfully surreal track Doggie Pizza Crust. Now they’re back with something a little different, a bittersweet love story. It’s called Hey Love.

Opening with slow, marching drums and fuzzy electric ukulele, Hey Love is a slow-tempo piece of alternative blues rock. The lyrics explore the end of a relationship through an extended space metaphor and shows a very different side of The Margaret Hooligans’ sound – one that I’m totally here for.
The track will feature on the band’s upcoming album Saturday Night in Bartertown, due out in July. I’m really excited to hear the album, and what they do next. I hope you will be too. You can check out Hey Love below.
