Beijing, China-born, New York City, USA-based singer songwriter Yify Zhang has become a regular face on our blog since we first discovered her music back in 2018. Her latest track and video Wild Cage is one that Jane’s already covered for us, but I thought it was so good it deserved another mention.

Yify is inspired by pop artists such as Aurora, Lana Del Rey and Sia, and if they’re your type of thing then you’ll find a lot to love about Yify’s music. Wild Cage is a rich, emotional experience. A neoclassical, cinematic pop soundscape gradually unfolds over a ruminating intro and first verse, with the star of the show being, as always, Yify’s expressive vocals.
