MEER are an eight piece prog rock orchestra based in Hamar, Norway who I’ve just discovered thanks to their inventive new track and video Beehive.

Though now eight strong, MEER started out as a duo, back in 2008. The vision was clearly there, but to create their wonderfully unique sound, they needed the numbers, and now consist of Knut Kippersund, Elvind Strømstad, Asa Ree, Ingvild Nordstoga Eide, Ole Gjøstøl, Morten Strypet and Mats Lillehaug.

Beehive gives us polyphonic vocals, dramatic piano-led instrumentals and a sense of the epic. Orchestral pop blends seamlessly with prog rock to give us something that is both and neither. The track comes with an expressively animated video which brings its poetic lyrics to life. You can check out the video below.
