Video: LINEBUG – Sideways

Danish duo LINEBUG have featured on our blog a couple of times now, most recently at the end of February with their lockdown-inspired track Beijing. Now they’re back with a new song and video about trying to find a place in the world. It’s called Sideways.

By Graeme Smith

LINEBUG wrote Sideways in the German town of Zeitz, where the pair live. In the Eastern part of Germany, the town’s history inspired the song’s lyrics, and its stop-motion animated video. While the video is straight out of Peter Gabriel’s Sledgehammer playbook, the song is a lot more delicate, delivered with LINEBUG’s soft signature vocals and whimsical instrumentals that combine electronic and classic elements. For the track, the pair have enlisted the help of Deutsches Filmorchestra Babelsburg.

With a new album on the way, dropping 21 April, now is the perfect time to be getting into LINEBUG’s music. You can check out the video for Sideways below.
