New Music: La Faute – The Crown

Canadian trip-hop artist La Faute, real name Peggy Messing, first hit my radar in February and is becoming a regular feature on this blog already. After being introduced to her music through her single Blue Girl Nice Day, I followed up with her last month thanks to her track Watercolours. Now it’s time for another new one. It’s called The Crown.

Just as we’ve come to expect from Peggy’s music, The Crown is a surreal, poetic track with a wonderfully eerie yet pleasant atmosphere. Right from its understated intro, it draws you in, and Peggy’s vocals grip you firmly by the hand saying “don’t be scared, come with me”. It’s enough to give you shivers.

The Crown is the third single, alongside Blue Girl Nice Day and Watercolours, to be released from La Faute’s upcoming debut album. You can give the track a listen below.
