Manchester-based rock outfit onedaybear has featured once before on our blog. Back in the autumn of 2021, we featured his track Swim. Now he’s back with a gentle one with hard lyrics. It’s called Island.
By Graeme Smith
Island is set in post-Brexit Manchester, and calls out dodgy landlords, no doubt written from experience. Its looping riff hits hard but overall Island is a soft and inviting track. Micheal Snitchblossom’s vocals are wonderfully smooth and delivers the track’s stream-of-consciousness lyrics with an apparent ease.
It’s a welcome return for this artist based on the other side of the Pennines. Here’s hoping it’s not so long between shares next time.
You can give Island a listen below.
