I know I’ve shared a lot of classical music of late, but you really need to check out a new discovery of mine – German composer Gunnar Spardel.

This piece is called The Missing, and it’s one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. It features a vast array of strings, building up over the course of the song, with a fantastic ebb and flow that really pays off. One thing that makes the music quite unique is the electronic elements that appear in the second half of the piece, coursing away through the track in a hauntingly beautiful way. It’s great to hear a composer trying something different, so this is a must listen.
