Marseille, France-based alternative rock act Blue Coffee first hit our radar in August last year and I’m pleased to welcome them back to the blog. Their latest track and video combines the personal with the ecological and it’s called Dolphins.
By Graeme Smith
Dolphins opens slow and thoughtful, with the ambient sound of ocean waves and gently strummed electric guitar. After the first verse it hits its indie rock stride, with mournful vocals throughout. The lyrics are rich with poetry and storytelling that keep you hooked.
Blue Coffee are Gautier Rodriguez, Nicolas de Bank, Sebastian Tourel and François Debiol. The band formed after the loss of a mutual friend and guitarist and have been performing together since 2018.
