First featuring on our blog in 2022, Blue Coffee are a band who we always have time for here at York Calling. Their new single Birth explores the moment the future becomes the present.

Consisting of Gautier Rodriguez, Nicolas de Bank, Sebastien Tourel, and François Debiol, Blue Coffee have been making music together since 2018. We’ve shared two of their singles before, Last Dance is 2022 and Dolphins last year.

Their latest single Birth is a powerful one. A stripped-back and pleading opening verse is rich with poetic lyrics before the instrumental kicks into life with an arrangement that combines rock and jazz. Things then end big with an urgent, pacy and punchy climax.
