The rock and roll genre is often said to be dead, but artists such as David G. Smith show this statement is clearly incorrect!

Weight You Carry is our first introduction to David’s music, but I’m sure it won’t be our last. It’s an extremely bluesy song, featuring some groovy guitar licks that run through the music, opening it up nicely. The bass and beat make the rhythm a proper stomp, as David croons in a stylistic way over the instrumentation. The piano joins in later on, adding an even funkier sound, which doesn’t seem possible when you first hear the track! Weight You Carry is an amazing piece of work and one that David should certainly be proud of!
