Rory Mullan, aka Kid Apollo, has been gracing these pages with his unique brand of alternative rock and pop since the beginning of last year. Since that time, we’ve shared four of his singles and are about to make it five. His latest is a hooky one called Long Time Coming.
By Graeme Smith
Long Time Coming open with driving percussion and video game-esque electronic notes before it develops into some emotive indie pop. Rory’s vocals are smooth and laid-back, giving a sense of melancholy that contrasts the brightness of the instrumentals. It might be his catchiest track yet.
Kid Apollo is a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Derry, Ireland. His main influences include Damon Albarn, The Strokes, St. Vincent, David Bowie and Arcade Fire.
