Beau Wheeler is a Vancouver, Canada-based artist who has just come to my attention thanks to their new single Flying Colours. The single is a comeback song, written during cancer treatment, and intended for all those looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Opening with a slow and deliberate country rock instrumental arrangement, Beau’s powerful and passionate vocals come in, leaving no doubt of the personal nature of the lyrics. Yet, the message is universal, harnessing the human tendency towards hope.
Beau is queer and non-binary, and came out as trans during the pandemic. Knowing the details of their journey makes the message of their song all the more rich. Flying Colours is a wonder. You can give it a listen below.
