Ottawa, Canada-based indie pop duo Wotts first hit our radar in March this year when they featured on Jane’s Made In Canada round up. An interview, and another track later, they’re back on these pages yet again with a new one. It’s called garden.
By Graeme Smith
Opening bright and experimental, it’s clear from the off that Wotts are offering something a little different with garden. The lyrics are wonderfully descriptive and poetic, painting a rich picture that’s beautifully supported by the ethereal soundscape. It feels nostalgic, but also forward-thinking. With it Wotts are taking classic influences from the ’60s and ’80s and making something completely new out of them.
Wotts are vocalist and multi-instrumentals Jayem and bassist and guitarist Ricky 100. Garden is the final single release from their new EP of the same name. You can give the single a listen below.
