Paraffin are a Portsmouth and Southampton-based alternative rock act who have just come to my attention thanks to their latest single. A tale of being young and wanting more from the world, it’s called Satisfied.

Satisfied opens with echoing, melancholic guitar before bass and drums come in. Expressive vocals then take the lead, guiding us through a story of frustration. A pre-chorus breakdown gives room for the track’s full arrangement to have maximum impact. It’s British indie at its best.
