Pump5 are a Los Angeles, USA-based rock and roll band who have just hit my radar thanks to their defiant new single Make Me.
By Graeme Smith
Led by Steven Barnett, Pump5 has its origins in the ’90s. Their debut release was in 2004 with Tour. Joining Steven on the line-up are Drew Cates on bass, Andre Bonter on drums and Alex Kane on guitar. Fiercely independent, they’ve been working hard down in Southern California.
Their latest release gives us some classic hard rock. It starts lively and doesn’t let up, cantering through a passionate verse before reaching an anthemic chorus. Finally, an instrumental interlude will have you reaching for your air guitar. The track is taken from Pump5’s new album Paradise Place which is also out now.
Make Me was produced by Dennis Hill and mixed by Mike Troolines. Both the track and Paradise Place are available to stream now on all major DSPs. You can check out the single below.
