RuBe is a young singer songwriter from North London who has just hit my radar thanks to her third single release. The last release in her “Jude’s Trilogy”, it tells the story of her brother, who has Down’s Syndrome. Her latest is called TRYING.

At the heart of any good song is a strong story and that’s what you get with TRYING. RuBe speaks from the heart in her lyrics, delivered against a backdrop of intimate and emotional instrumentals that blend aspects of pop, RnB, the cinematic and drum and bass. Its chorus provides a cathartic moment where RuBe’s vocals are at their most compelling. It’s beautiful stuff.

RuBe is an artist who’s not afraid to speak her truth, and clearly has an ear for a memorable pop melody. She’s one to keep an eye on.
