Zaq Baker is an American artist who asks the question: “what if we brought a pop-punk ethic to musical theatre?” It’s that intriguing combo that caught my attention with his latest track, a collaboration with Anne Brown, called Nervous (Anne’s Audition Song).

Anne is a singer, actor, dancer, choreographer and costumers based in Minneapolis, USA. She approached Zaq to write her a piece to perform during auditions and Nervous was the result. A raw, honest and vulnerable piece, it delves into what it’s like living with anxiety in heart-breaking detail, and is beautifully performed by Anne, backed by piano.

Zaq is currently working on a full-length musical and, based on the evidence of Nervous, it should be a cracker. You can check out Nervous below.
