Oslo, Norway-based Stian Fjelldal, aka Birds Are Better, first hit our radar at the end of last year through Jane’s Nordic Artists round up and an interview. I followed that up in May with a share of his track and video Seven In The Morning. Now he’s back with another video. It’s called The Plan.

A thoughtful number, The Plan has an instant relatability to it. The emotion of the piece is delivered through smooth and soulful vocals, and instrumentals that mix acoustic and electronic elements. You might describe the Birds Are Better sound as folk, but it doesn’t quite capture all that’s going on. It’s beautifully unique and perfectly demonstrates why we keep coming back to Stian’s world.
