I just couldn’t resist sharing British singer-songwriter Alex Helsby’s music as soon as I heard Are What You Said You Aren’t!

Are What You Said You Aren’t has a subtle beauty, working its way underneath your skin in no time. It’s fairly minimalist, as the music consists solely of a creepy acoustic guitar melody that carries throughout the tune, with a quiet percussive beat added at times. However, it doesn’t need anything more, as the track is gorgeous as it is, particularly with Alex’s wonderful vocals crooning over the top. He uses the backing vocals perfectly to accentuate the lead vocals, creating something stunningly unique.
