New Music: Low Girl – Pockets

Hemel Hempsted-based Low Girl first hit our radar in 2021 thanks to their EP Big Now. Since then, they’ve been on an upward trajectory with latest EP Uh-Oh released earlier this year to critical acclaim, including support from BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq. Their latest is their first new music since the EP. It’s called Pockets.

By Graeme Smith

Pockets is a dreamy number that combines ethereal instrumentals with a relentless groove. It’s pop but not as we know it, brimming with fresh innovation and a modern attitude. It’s easy to see why there’s so much hype about Low Girl at the moment when they’re putting out music like this.

Low Girl is fronted by vocalist and songwriter Sarah Cosgrove with the line-up being completed by bandmates Toby, Tom and Brad. It’s so great to have them back on the blog. They’re clearly going places!
