Montreal, Canada-based singer songwriter Sarah Segal-Lazar has been called the “Femme Fatale of Folk.” She’s been performing music since she was in nappies but has only just hit our radar thanks to her new track and video, taken from her new album Valleys. It’s called Earlier.

Earlier is a light, dreamy, yet melancholic track. Its emotional dichotomy hits you straight away thanks to its lilting country instrumentals and Sarah’s heart-breaking lyrics. It’s folk and country at its best, one to listen to low during a contemplative moment late at night while mending a broken soul. When I heard it, I knew I had to share it.
