You’ve recently released a single titled Deadly Kiss. What can you tell us about the track?

It’s the debut single of our project SYLVATIC BLACK. We really want to tell stories from the North. Stories about vikings, witches, trolls and other mythical creatures.

It’s your debut single, making it all the more impressive! How did you start making music together?

We met in 2022, clicked with each other straight away and spontaneously decided to do a duet. The song is called That Rocking Thing and was released in December 2022. We knew we had found some musical chemistry with one another and founded SYLVATIC BLACK.

How has the reception to Deadly Kiss been so far, and where can it be purchased?

We are not a professional rock band and so we are not professionally promoted. However, a number of people from all over the world have come across our songs and we are continuously being asked for more. By the way, a big shout out and a thank you to everyone out there being open-minded to independent artists. Deadly Kiss is available on most streaming services such as Apple, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon and so on.

Do you plan to release any more singles soon?

Yes, we have so many ideas for songs. We are hoping to release two further tracks before the end of 2023.

Are there any plans to release a studio album or EP in the near future?

Yes, we would love to. However, for the first time we are going to do things back to front. We are going to put out 8 or 9 singles and make an album out of them further down the line. Because we are simply far too impatient to wait with our new releases.

Your music has a classic rock sound. What/who influences you most as artists? What have you been listening to recently?

We are influenced by 80s rock and metal. It was the time of our youth. We listened to all the heroes of melodic rock and metal/power metal, like Malmsteen or Lillian Axe. Can’t name them all. You couldn’t put a number on the amount of brilliant bands back then. Particularly today, we love bands like Hammerfall and Crashdïet.

Do you have anything else exciting coming up?

Yes, we already did some great video shots for our next two songs. One of these videoclips will be a little like a viking movie. We had a hell of a lot of fun. And we metalized an Italian folk song, which is coming up soon.

You’re from Sweden. What is the local scene like at the moment?

We’re from Filipstad, so we are small town rockers. Unfortunately there’s no scene here. But there is a number of cool rock festivals all over Sweden, such as Sweden Rock in Sölvesborg. But we prefer to visit the smaller ones like Skogsröjet in Rejmyre. It’s really worth it to go there. The bigger cities such as Gothenborg have a better rock scene.

Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?

Unfortunely we are not big enough yet to play gigs. We are working on our own at the moment. So we would need to hire musicians and a crew to go on tour. We couldn’t cover the expenses at the moment. We hope that this will work out some time in the future.

Any last words for the fans?

Keep the faith, we’re moving on! Thank you all so much.. And one day we’ll hopefully see you on the road.
