Moose Wrench are a rock band from Leeds who have featured once before on our blog. In June this year, Jane interviewed them about their single Not Dead Yet. Now it’s my turn to share some of their music, this time a cover of the Tings Tings’ classic Not My Name.
By Graeme Smith
The trio certainly put their own spin on the track. It’s recognisable but has a quirky swagger about it, with characterful vocals and a raw, DIY vibe. Its punchy chorus will definitely have you moving and the track’s memorable bridge is vividly rendered with vocals that range from low and crooner-esque to thrash metal shouting.
Moose Wrench are Dr. Dan on keytar and vocals, Mr. Dan on bass and Dan Jr. on drums. Not My Name was recorded at Greenmount Studios, Leeds and is the second single from their upcoming album Not Dead Yet. You can give it a listen below.
