Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Ashlynn Malia is a fairly new discovery of mine, but I’m sure I’ll be sharing more of her stuff soon!

Cool Girl is a pop song with a difference, also containing elements of soul and r&b. It’s got a fairly slow tempo, as the bass oozes through the piece, alongside the steady beat. A noodly clean guitar melody plays throughout, adding another amazing element to the song. And of course, Ashlynn’s vocals are fantastic, showing a great range here. There’s something very soulful and sultry about her vocals, really drawing you into her world. The video is pretty cool too – find it below!
