Will Knox is a London-born singer songwriter who has just come to my attention thanks to his latest track and video. A story of confronting his past and healing, it’s called Instant Coffee.

It was during coronavirus lockdown that Will discovered that he was to be a father for the first time. The news made him reflect on his past, and the issues he still held. Determined not to pass them onto his son, he decided to confront them, and Instant Coffee is part of that process. The track is beautifully delicate with Will accompanying himself on acoustic guitar. It’s his vocals that are truly the highlight though, soulfully captivating.

Will was born and raised in London before relocating to the States to get a formal education at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He now resides in the Netherlands. He released his debut album The Matador & The Acrobat fourteen years ago, and has won multiple awards for his music. His fourth album is set for release next year.

Instant Coffee was produced by Ian Grimble. You can watch its video, directed by Liz van den Akker, below.
