Newcastle-based rock band Ten Eighty Trees have appeared on this blog several times now, and we’ve been following them for a couple of years. At the beginning of this year, I was impressed with their EP Maybe I Like The Misery so was pleased to see they had more new music out. Their latest is a meditation on dissatisfaction and it’s called Brand New Skin.

Opening introspective yet expansive, Brand New Skin is a track that instantly hits you with its sense of contrast. A slow-burning first verse gradually builds until we get to a release of a chorus where the vocals are at their most passionate. The guys have a way with words, and their new track is no exception. Its story will stick with you.
