Hailing from South Wales, Ryan Keyse is a singer songwriter who has just come to my attention thanks to his debut single. An unconventional story about vulnerability and imposter syndrome, it’s called Good Attendance.

It’s not easy being a fine upstanding citizen sometimes. Bad behaviour gets attention while good behaviour is largely overlooked, especially among the youth. Ryan shines a light on it in his new track, a raw and honest account of feeling like he should a rebelled more when he was younger. I can certainly relate. The track is beautifully rendered through stripped-back, acoustic instrumentals and Ryan’s characterful vocals, but it’s definitely the story of the lyrics that is the star of the show.
If you’re a fan of songwriters like Jason Isbell, Bruce Springsteen and Phoebe Bridgers, then you’re going to like Ryan Keyse. You can check out Good Attendance below.
