Windows are a Los Angeles, USA-based rock band who have just come to my attention thanks to their latest single release, Upstairs.

An old work retrieved from the obscurity of a desk drawer, Upstairs is a lo-fi and vibrant effort. There’s a modern retroness about it, combining throwback warmth with modern chill. Its rhythm is relentless, yet the overall effect is something laidback and relaxing. If you like good vibes mixed with a little edgy melancholy, then you need look no further than Upstairs.

Windows is led by Matteo Arias, who founded the band in 2018. They take inspiration from California’s long heritage of music, including country, surf rock and psych, mixing it in with Mexican-American sensibilities. Their full length album Raindrops On The Open Road is set for release next year and you can check out Upstairs below.
