Defenceless is an folk song with an old school quality – the beat reminds me a lot of the rock and roll/soul that became so popular in the 50s and 60s. The guitars have a classic Americana sound, seeing some lovely, bluesy motifs break off from the strummed acoustic guitars that provide the backbone for the piece.
