Jayna is a Nashville, USA-based pop artist who has just come to my attention thanks to the release of her latest single. A track full of feminine rage in the vein of contemporaries like Olivia Rodrigo and Wet Leg, it’s called Silly Goose.

Jayna is actually known more as a chill folk pop artist so Silly Goose marks a bit of a departure for her. The sound certainly suits her. The track builds from a simple acoustic guitar melody, hitting a bombastic stride before her characterful vocals come in. What really grabs you, though, is its storytelling lyrics, especially during an anthemic, humorous and cathartic chorus.
I’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on Jayna. She could be on the verge of something big.
