Wild Horse are a Brighton-based indie pop band who have just come to my attention thanks to their first single release of 2024. An anthem celebrating nights out and friends with benefits, it’s called Wednesday Night Distractions.
By Graeme Smith
Brothers Jack and Henry Baldwin formed Wild Horse with their best friend from primary school, Ed Barnes. The three grew up on a diet of hip hop and classic rock, and brought those influences together into their unique indie pop sound. They’ve gained support from the BBC, and have even been talked about in UK Parliament.
Their latest single is a banger that combines a dance beat with jangly rock elements and bittersweet lyrics. It’s a track that demands you move in its groovy verses, and let it all go during its soaring, sultry chorus.
Wednesday Night Distractions was written by Wild Horse’s frontman Jack Baldwin, and was produced by Matt Leppanen. It was recorded at The Animal Farm Music studio in London. You can give it a listen below.
