Regular readers of this blog will know how much I enjoy the music of Brent Amaker, and his various projects have been all over these pages since 2020. He never fails to deliver a delicious slice of quirky alternative Americana and his latest is no different. A rogue’s tale, it’s called Wanted.

Musically, Wanted feels like a straightforward country song and the lyrics tell a story of a devilish criminal that’s full of charisma and danger. Of course, with it being Brent Amaker, thing are never straightforward, and there are plenty of curveballs in the story.

Perhaps the biggest curveball of them all is its surreal video, directed by Balthazar, and co-directed and edited by George Salisbury (who’s known for his work with the Flaming Lips), which treats us to dancing puppets and bar-based carnage. It has to be seen to be enjoyed and you can check it out below.
