Stoke-on-Trent-based rock act Camens have been featuring on these pages since the summer of 2022, when they came to our attention through Jane’s Northern Favourites round up. I followed that up with shares of their tracks Jacket Weather and On The Walk From The Picturehouse, and now they’re back with a brand new one. It’s called Cynical.

Opening with a lively drum beat, Cynical quickly arrives at an indie rock sound that combines the best of the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s and modern day. A powerful chorus urges you to shout along and I can see it playing really well from a festival stage. Camens continue to give us rock for lovers of rock.

Camens have been busy of late with tour slots supporting Black Kids, Scouting for Girls, The Snuts and The Sherlocks, among others. Their debut album WORK/LIFE/BALANCE is on its way and you can check out Cynical below.
