Miles and the Chain Gang, the band led by local writer, poet and musician Miles Salter, frequently appear on these pages and I’m always happy to share more of their music. Their latest track has been some time in the making, originally dating back to 1994. It’s called Raining Cats and Dogs.
By Graeme Smith
Raining Cats and Dogs was born from a jam session, and it took ten years for it to be first recorded, appearing on an album that was never widely released. A trip down memory lane inspired its re-release, and shows a country-tinged side of the Miles and the Chain Gang sound. Gentle acoustic guitar is paired pleasantly with harmonica by Syd Egan.
Miles is promising us the band’s debut album release very soon. I can’t wait to hear it! You can listen to Raining Cats and Dogs below.
