Wavey Days is a singer songwriter born and based just down the road from here in Leeds who has just come to my attention through his latest single release. A mellow indie pop track that will have you dreaming of summer, it’s called Round The Bend.
By Graeme Smith
Inspired by the likes of Sticky Fingers, Ocean Alley, Tame Impala and The 1975, Wavey Days is a project that began in 2022. Previously, Charlie, the man behind the project, had been working in dance music before deciding to make the move to indie pop.
With the sophistication of Round the Bend, the transition couldn’t have gone smoother. It’s a beautifully articulated track, blending light and shadow compellingly. Its emotion it brought to life through Charlie’s soulful vocals and a melodic groove that you can’t help but move along to.
I love discovering great new artists for this blog, and that goes double when they’re local. I can’t wait to hear more from Wavey Days.
