Ottawa, Canada-based indie pop duo Wotts have been all over our pages since they first featured as part of Jane’s Made In Canada round up in early 2022. Recently they’ve been sharing with us tracks from their EP PETALS, including WANNABE and ALLO!

Their latest release is the EP’s title track, and explores the realisation that an unrequited love is never going to happen. Melancholic vocals and lyrics are paired with a lively and urgent instrumental arrangement. It’s underpinned by ponderous bass by Ricky 100, over which electronic and percussive layers are poured. The whole track has a breathlessness about it, and canters towards a big finish that brings in elements of psych pop.
