New Music: Stuart Lawrence – Paradise

Stuart Lawrence is a Fareham-based indie and alternative rock artist who first came to our attention last autumn when I ran the rule over his album One.

By Graeme Smith

His latest single Paradise treats us to a new sound of his while not losing any of the features we loved about his album. The recording process for his album inspired him, and Paradise kicks things up another notch, delivering a groovy and atmospheric number with some dramatic rises and falls. Stuart’s voice has a rich depth to it that really draws you in, especially during a passionate chorus.

Originally, from Oxfordshire, he now calls England’s south coast home. Starting his music career at 59 years old, Stuart is the embodiment of “better late than never.” Having overcome challenges with anxiety and ADHD, he’s out here providing an example for anyone who wants to record music but fears they’ve left it too long.

Paradise was recorded at Mayfield Studios and was engineered and produced by Matt Brook who also features on lead guitar. You can give the track a listen below.
