Nolo Grace is becoming a familiar feature on this blog, having featured a few times before, both as a solo act and as part of husband and wife duo Grace & Moji.

The alternative pop artist and producer is back with a new single, the first from her upcoming album Eye of the Dragon. Alone in My Dreams explores themes of transformation and development through a slow-building and brooding electronic arrangement. A lush opening takes it time building the atmosphere before a bass-driven groove comes in, perfectly contrasting Grace’s lofty vocals and its cinematic overtones.

The track comes complete with a video that draws from the song’s story of running away and recurring nightmares. Haunting images intersperse with footage of Grace in a stunning, avant-garde outfit. It’s more evidence, if we ever needed it, that this former Wall Street executive turned pop star is one of a kind.
