Basement is a track that mixes a few different genres together, including pop-rock, indie, synth-pop and commercial pop, making for something that appeals across the genre boundaries. The British singer-songwriter has created something really catchy here, yet it never sounds overly mainstream, adding a sense of genuine reality into the piece. Her vocals are soft and sultry as they work through the music, enhancing the hooky chorus with a sense of cool style. Give it a go here:
