New Music: Steyl – The Poet’s Shadow

We’ve featured Steyl a few times now, and their music just keeps on getting better and better!

By Jane Howkins

The Swiss group make a form of classical music that fits the neoclassical vein quite well, with The Poet’s Shadow being one of my favourite pieces of music by the band. It really is beautiful, building the music up slowly as the piece progresses. As expected, the instrumentation consists largely of a stringed orchestral section, although some lovely little piano trickles also work their way through the music in a lovely way. This is another must listen from me!
