Perth, Australia-based alternative pop rock artist Trent-Jean has featured a few times on this blog before, most recently when I shared his single Crescent Moon last month. Now he’s back with a new, romantic one.

Sunburnt Angel was written and recorded in a single day on returning from Margaret River in the South West of Australia. It sees Trent-Jean adopt a stripped-back, folksy style, inspired partially by Johnny Cash whose musings on love have been reflected in this track. The passion of the track is immediate, delivered beautifully by Trent-Jean’s expressive vocals and poetic lyrics. A memorable chorus is the highlight, bringing love to life through its captivating description.
Sunburnt Angel was recorded, mixed and co-produced by Robbie Corbert who also contributes synths, bass and programming. Harmonica and keys are by Chelsea J Gibson and backing vocals are by Emily Rose. It was mastered by Rob Grant at Poons Head Studios. You can give it a listen below.
