Blair Dunlop is a Chesterfield-based singer songwriter who has somehow stayed off my radar until now. Gladly, that’s now all changed through the release of his new track and video, I Wanna Be Running.

In my defence, Blair’s latest single is his first in five years, but I still feel a little late to the Blair Dunlop party all the same. For fans who have been waiting for it, you won’t be disappointed. I Wanna Be Running tells a story of existential anxiety through a cantering and reflective country arrangement. The standout are the soft and soulful vocals. They are very easy to listen to.

Blair is going to be heading out on a UK tour in April, with stops in Cottingham on 13 April, Robins Hood’s Bay the next day, and Leeds on 28 April. You can get tickets for all his shows here.
