Lilia is an acoustic folk singer songwriter based in France who has just caught my attention with her latest track and video. A deeply personal track, it’s called Port Saint Sauveur.

Port Saint Sauveur instantly struck me due to Lilia’s beautiful and angelic vocals. She sings in French, but the emotion comes through in any language, and she is wonderfully supported by a stripped-back and slow-building acoustic instrumental arrangement. There is a touch of the classic about it all, while remaining refreshingly modern.

Lilia is a definite one to watch and has a debut EP on the way, set for release in June. It promises to bring together French chanson traditions with pop and folk. I, for one, can’t wait to hear it.
