Recently we’ve been sharing a string of tracks and videos by them celebrating the East German world which they now inhabit. Their upcoming album Portraits of Invisible Places explores the overlooked part of the world, celebrating its landscapes, history and people.
The Last Hearts Made of Coal focusses on the former mining town of Deuben. The pair experienced the town both before and after its power plant closed down and were struck by the contrast. Their new track and video dwells on the town’s once liveliness, as well as the dangers that coal mining brought. A bittersweet and nostalgic composition plays over a video featuring grainy footage of the town and the plant.
