Parallel is composed and performed entirely on the piano, sounding absolutely beautiful throughout. It starts off fairly slowly as more and more piano notes are added in layers, ebbing and flowing in a haunting manner. It sounds fairly simplistic at first, but there’s a lot more going on here than first meets the ear, showing A. Blomqvist to be an extraordinary talent within the modern neoclassical scene.
