Jamie Broad is a Liverpool-based rapper who has just come to my attention through his latest single release. A ponderous affair, it acts as a window into his thought process. It’s called Still Loading.

We all find ourselves doing it. With nothing in particular to occupy our minds, they wander and we find ourselves asking the most random questions in our head. Jamie brings this idea to life in song form with Still Loading, and in it he encourages us to make a little time for mental meandering.

Opening with a striking instrumental that feels both retro and modern, we are soon treated to Jamie’s free flowing verses and catchy hook. There’s a charming Liverpudlian twang to his vocals, and his lyrics are quintessentially British.

I’m so pleased to have discovered Jamie’s music for myself. He’s right up there with the best UK hip hop acts.
