London-based artist Yodashe first appeared on this blog in March this year thanks to her Nouvelle Vague-inspired track FAM. Now she’s back with a new one set in the early stages of the pandemic.

The further away we get from 2020, the more the pandemic seems like a strange fever dream. Yet it’s a time in our collective experience we’re never likely to forget. In EASTER, Yodashe delves into that disorientating time, perfectly reflecting it in a composition that gradually changes from a moody dark pop number to something more sinister. It’s the kind of experimentation we’ve come to expect from her, and further proof of just what a unique artist she is.
EASTER is the third single from Yodashe’s upcoming self-produced debut album. It was written and produced by Yodashe at Goldsmiths Music Studios, London, mixed by Mathew Keightley at Hackney Road Studios, London, and mastered by Cicely Balston at AIR Studios, London. The release is supported by Help Musicians.
