Cheska Zaide, who performs as Earth To Cheska, is an indie pop artist based in Los Angeles, USA who has just come to my attention with her latest single, Power.

Though Earth To Cheska is a new project, started earlier this year, Cheska has made waves in the past as the songwriter for A+ Dropouts who played the Vans Warped Tour in 2015. Having taken a break to study at UCLA, she’s now making a return to music as a solo artist.

Her new single Power is the perfect introduction to her sound, giving us bouncing, alternative pop. Though her sound has drawn comparisons with other Gen Z artists like Olivia Rodrigo, there’s something a little unconventional about Cheska’s approach. While Power is a pop bop, it brings with it plenty of unexpected experimentation too.
